Childproofing 101: Why You Need Corner Cushions to Protect Your Child from the Dangerous, Sharp Corners in Your Home.

Corner protectors, corner guards, corner cushions.  Whatever you call them, you need them.  Why?  Because corners are sharp and can do a lot of damage to the human body, especially to the body, the head or the eyes of a child.

To illustrate this, try the following: Press your finger tip hard against the wall.  Nothing happens to the wall, right?  Now use the same amount of force and press a tack into the wall.  The wall now has a hole in it. Why? Because the thumbtack has a smaller surface area than your finger tip.  The thumbtack concentrates the same force into a smaller area, creating more pressure against the wall.

Imagine, now, that the wall is your child and the thumbtack is the corner of your living room coffee table.  My 47-year-old brother still has a scar where a small table caught the corner of his eye when, as a frisky five-year old, he fell while spinning around to The Partridge Family’s “I Think I Love You.”  We didn’t have Roving Cove Safe Corner Cushions.
